Q. What access does ASU Library have to the Arizona Republic and Arizona Republican?

Answer

The Arizona Republic has been the major newspaper of Arizona for over a century. It was called the Arizona Republican from 1890-1930.

Access to ASU Library's subscription databases and Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery services (mentioned below) require users to be current ASU students, faculty or staff for authentication.

Access may also be available over the ASU Guest wifi on ASU campuses for some subscription databases.

  • Arizona Republic, 1930- on microfilm
Especially useful for the years 1930-1998 that are not online or articles that are not online due to the Tasini court case. Current ASU students, faculty and staff may request reels or specific articles through ASU Library's Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery service.
An online index to the Arizona Republic archive is available online at Arizona Republic Historical Newspapers, 1890- where you can find publication dates for their articles; however, full text of the articles requires a subscription to their service. The Arizona Republic archive is not affiliated with ASU or ASU Library.
