Q. What is the HathiTrust ETAS Service the library was considering implementing?

Answer

In the wake of COVID-19, there is increased demand for digital resources for many in the ASU community who are learning and working remotely. As a result, the ASU Library considered launching a pilot project with the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service.  However, following further data analysis and initial feedback from our patrons and library professionals, the ASU Library has decided to discontinue its expansion of digital materials via the HathiTrust Digital Library Emergency Temporary Access Service partnership and all-digital pilot project.

As a result, beginning Thursday, May 28, many materials from the ASU Library’s physical collections will once again be available to request, including items from the library’s High Density Collection (HDC), Hayden Library and Noble Library. In addition, items from the Music Library, and the Design and the Arts Library will also then be able to be requested.

We apologize for this inconvenience and are happy to answer any questions you may have about this decision. Please contact Associate University Librarian Jennifer Duvernay with any questions. ;
