Q. How do I sign up for (or renew) my New York Times academic group pass?

Answer

Arizona State University Library provides access to nytimes.com for all current students, staff, and faculty members through a Group Pass.

ASU users must initially register for an Academic Group Pass account or renew an existing Group Pass account by following these steps:

  1. Activate your pass: https://libguides.asu.edu/nytimesagrppass

  2. You will be taken to a new page to create an account.

  3. Use the “Create Account” button to CREATE OR RENEW an account.

  1. Use your ASURite@asu.edu email, NOT your firstname.lastname@asu.edu email.

  2. You will be redirected to myASU login page to authenticate with DUO. Please sign in as if you were signing in to myASU.

  3. When you see START YOUR ACCESS. Please submit your details to redeem your pass

    • Students registering for passes will be asked to provide an anticipated graduation year, and passes will remain valid until December of their graduation year.

  • Existing Faculty/Staff will get a new validation for 1456 days upon renewing their expired passes.
  1. Once your account is created or renewed you won’t need to use the link in this guide until you need to renew; instead, use nytimes.com from any location and sign in on their website.
