Peer reviewed articles are the major articles in academic journals or chapters in scholarly books that have undergone the "peer review" or refereed process before being accepted for publication. They are reviewed by other scholars in the same field or discipline for accuracy and completeness.

Remember, only the MAJOR articles in a scholarly journal will be peer-reviewed!

The following items in those same types of publications will NOT be peer-reviewed:

• letters to the editor
• editorials
• news
